Well I can speak from my experience. I did the Purification
Rundown. I felt sick often during the time period I was on it.
I was C/Sed for unusually large amounts of niacin and vegetable
oil. The Fat One probably wanted me to be fat like he was.

His theory was in order to get rid of the toxins, one had to do a
"fat exchange". In other words, the Hub Bard said a person must
substitute fat for fat in order to eliminate toxins that had been
stored in the fatty tissues of one's body. I was told to use
"All-blend" vegetable oil. I was C/Sed to drink 4 ounces per day!!
That's about 112 grams of fat per day, or 784 grams (1.75 lbs) per
week!! This is bad for one's heart due to the large amount of
cholesterol ingested.

As for the niacin, my daily dosage was C/Sed at 250 mg per day. This
is about 12.5 times the recommended daily dosage for an adult. The
first time I took this dose, I thought I was going to have a heart
attack. My heart was racing as it had never done before. And I felt
like I had been lying in the desert sun in Death Valley during July
for 2-3 days.

A couple of years later I learned that I had liver damage AND my
cholesterol level was too high. I wish that I had consulted a
doctor prior to starting the program. I would urge you to get an
opinion from a physician BEFORE starting this program, ESPECIALLY
since the people running it ARE NOT LICENSED PHYSICIANS, yet are
making claims of being able to help you "feel better", "rid" the body
of accumulated drugs and other toxins, etc.

The reason I took these large doses of niacin and oil (as well as many
other vitamins) was because I trusted ElRon and $igh'ntology. I THOUGHT
the "Founder" knew what he was talking about.

Now I know I was lied to, and my liver suffers irreversible damage.
I feel deceived and betrayed since I trusted a man named L. Ron Hubbard...
