I want to stress that the materials [including disconnection policy] removed from the
checksheet were NOT cancelled. They were simply removed from the course because
they were limited distribution issues (CONFIDENTIAL) and as such had been
"erroneously included on the course checksheet."

Well, it depends upon which version of the course on looks at!
The checksheet in force when I did the course was Board Policy Letter
31 May 1971RC Issue IV Revised 12 August 1976 REVISED & CANCELS HCO PL
31 May 1971R REVISED 5 May 1972 "PTS AND SP DETECTION, ROUTING AND
[The revision done on 12 August 1976 was the 4th revision of the
Board Policy Letter, which was 31 May 1971. The HCO PL of 31 May 1971
was the original issue. It itself was revised on 5 May 1972 to be made
into a BPL.]
The 31 May 71RC Issue IV version has Science of Survival chapters
1-8, 13-15 and 18-27. So as one can see, it is heavily based upon this

As I said in another post, there was a policy on disconnection on
the checksheet when I did the course. It is BPL 15 Sept 1973 which is
entitled "CONFIDENTIAL - HANDLING DISCONNECTION". Another policy
that was on the checksheet but was removed on 25 October 1976 was BPL
23 October 1973 Issue II "STAFF CORRECTIVE ACTIONS". Both of these
policies were ordered removed by ElRon. The issue covering their
removal from the PTS/SP Course checksheet was done by the then CS-5
I want to stress that the materials removed from the checksheet were
NOT cancelled. They were simply removed from the course because they were
limited distribution issues (CONFIDENTIAL) and as such had been "erroneously
included on the course checksheet."
There were 18 clay demos on the course when I did it. These demos
1) The cause of blows.
2) A problem.
3) What suppression is.
4) How an SP becomes one.
5) How to detect an SP in an org.
6) What a PTS is.
7) What a Degraded Being is.
8) The Overt-Motivator Sequence.
9) The mechanism of PTS.
10) The basic theory of why SPs are SPs.
11) The purpose of Ethics.
12) An executive's responsibility regarding Ethics and Justice.
13) How a Type A Situation can stem from what the PTS person did to
make the other antagonistic and how to handle.
14) The purpose of a PTS interview.
15) How to do a 10 August PTS Interview.
16) The consequences of a false PTS Condition.
17) The effects of a Wrong Item.
18) How you would see to the correction of someone who had a wrong
item found on him.
The tapes one listens to on the course include:
1) 19 March 1962 THE MECHANICS OF SUPPRESSION.
2) 2 Aug 1966 SUPPRESSIVES AND GAEs
3) 25 Aug 1966 THE ANTI-SOCIAL PERSONALITY
4) 18 March 1965 ORGANIZATION AND ETHICS
There are 63 policy letters and bulletins on the course. And there are
ten demos (in addition to the clay demos mentioned above); there
are 4 drills, including doing a Case Supervisor 79 PTS Handling. To attest
to a successful completion of the course, the student must also find
someone who is PTS, do a 10 August 1973 PTS Interview on him/her and
a successful handling of the person's PTS condition.
The "PRODUCT" (result) of completion of this course is:
"A staff member who understands and can perceive and handle PTSes and SPs."
Prerequisites for this course include the Student Hat Course and a TRs
Course completed. And completion of this course is necessary for staff in
order for them to attain "permanently posted" status and to be "FQTSM"
(Fully Qualified and Trained Staff Member).

Realize that if you are a Scientologist reading this, your cult's policy says
that you are committing a "SUPPRESSIVE ACT" by doing so, unless it is your "hat"
to be a "terminal" on a "post" whose "duty" is to "handle PTSes and SPs"!!!
So, are you an "Ethics Officer", or are you an "SP"?
